The system of professional education in the customs administration is based on the principle of life-long education and is intended for all categories of employees. It creates qualification preconditions for the performance of all the specialized activities following from the competence of the customs authorities. The primary attention is devoted to providing the relevant level of customs professional education, which forms the basis for the career progress of each individual customs officer. This education is divided into three mutually connected grades, which are concluded by appropriate examinations, that means lower, professional or higher customs examinations. The content of the teaching is oriented, according to the type of preparation, towards customs agendas, tax agendas, customs policies and tariffs, mobile supervision, search, control and administrative activities. Foreign language preparation is also very important. In addition to theoretical preparation, in the framework of the educational process, emphasis is also placed on the ability to apply the knowledge obtained in practical performance of working activities or service acts. This is also related to special training for performance of service or providing for the special competence of the customs administration. The Educational Institute, which is part of the personnel, education and health-care department of GDC, is a specialized workplace concerned with professional preparation. The individual forms of professional education are provided primarily in our own educational facilities, which are equipped with the necessary didactic technology, teaching aids and specialized classrooms.
