Anti-corruption measures in the Czech Republic and in the customs administration
Resolution of the Government of the Czech Republic No. 1199 of 25 October 2006, on the Government Strategy in the Fight against Corruption for the Period of 2006 to 2011, instructed the heads of central bodies of state administration to ensure that from 1 January 2007 the public is informed about adopted anti-corruption measures related to the decision-making of the state authorities in their field of competence.
The customs administration had previously, based on the Arusha Declaration, adopted an Integrity Action Plan, constituting a set of risks and anti-corruption measures from all areas and levels of the work of the customs administration. The World Customs Organization is regularly informed about implementation of the Integrity Action Plan and the adoption of other organisational, staffing and training measures.
The Arusha Declaration concerning good governance and integrity in customs (Tanzania, 7 July 1993 at the 81st and 82nd sessions of the Customs Co-operation Council) was revised in June 2003 (at the 101st and 102nd sessions of the Council) and the key factors in the effective national programme for the integrity of the customs authorities were defined in more detail.
The anti-corruption measures adopted by the Customs Administration of the Czech Republic and stemming from the Revised Arusha Declaration are consistent with the tasks set out in the Strategy.
